What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Learning & Development Specialist position at DSI Systems?
Why This Role Exists
Training doesn’t fail because of content. It fails because it doesn’t show up in the work.
This role exists to close that gap.
You’ll take learning from a workshop or idea and turn it into something people use—through follow-up, reinforcement, and simple, practical content that fits into the flow of work.
What You’ll Do: Turn Learning into Action
- Follow up after training to ensure key behaviors are being used
- Reinforce expectations with managers and teams
- Identify where people are getting stuck and help remove barriers
- Turn one-time training into consistent habits
- Keep learning connected to real work—not separate from it
Create Simple, High-Impact Content
- Create short, practical video content using simple tools (Loom, screen recording, Camtasia)
- Capture real workflows and turn them into clear, usable examples
- Build quick learning assets (2–5 minute videos, walkthroughs, job aids)
- Own content creation end-to-end (idea → build → publish)
- Focus on clarity and usefulness over polish
- Move quickly—turn ideas into usable content without heavy production
Stay Close to the Business
- Work with leaders to understand what’s working and what’s not
- Observe how work is happening—not just how it was trained
- Spot gaps between expectations and execution
- Provide simple, practical recommendations that improve adoption
- Help leaders reinforce learning in day-to-day work
Track What’s Being Used
- Monitor what’s sticking and what’s not
- Use data and observation to identify patterns
- Share clear, simple insights
- Help connect learning efforts to real outcomes
- Keep a pulse on where support is needed most
Facilitate When Needed
- Lead sessions when needed (virtual or in-person)
- Reinforce key messages during onboarding and workshops
- Support delivery during high-volume or priority initiatives
- Ensure consistency between what’s taught and what shows up in the work
Content Creation & Execution
- You can take a concept and turn it into something people can use immediately
- You’re comfortable creating simple video content without a production team
- You can capture screens, workflows, and real scenarios clearly
- You move fast—turning ideas into usable content in hours or days, not weeks
- You care more about clarity and usefulness than polish
Facilitation & Communication
- You’re confident in leading both virtual and in-person sessions
- You keep things simple, practical, and grounded in real work
- You ask good questions and guide conversations effectively
- You’re comfortable working with managers and leaders
How You Show Up
- You’re proactive, you don’t wait to be told where to help
- You follow through—you close loops and make things stick
- You’re observant—you notice what others miss
- You’re easy to work with—people trust you and respond to you
- You bring energy and clarity without overcomplicating things
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience in corporate training, enablement, or operations
- Experience supporting onboarding or performance improvement efforts Familiarity with tools like Loom, Camtasia, or similar
- Exposure to behavior change or adoption-focused work
- Candidates with these strengths will ramp quickly and drive immediate impact.
Work Sample (Required)
- Please include a work sample with your application.
- You may upload a file or include a link to a portfolio or website.
- If you do not have an existing example, you may create a short video (2–3 minutes) explaining a process, tool, or concept.
- We are not evaluating production quality. We are evaluating how clearly and quickly you can help someone understand and apply something.
What Success Looks Like
- Training is used—not just completed
- Managers consistently reinforce expectations
- Gaps between training and execution are quickly identified and addressed
- Teams adopt new behaviors faster and more consistently
- Learning feels natural, practical, and part of the work
