The Transportation Coordinator role is high energy and fast-moving role where an individual gets a little bit of everything in the transportation world. This role can lead to different career paths depending on the motivation and progression of the individual including a commissioned sales role, an account management role, carrier sales role, or operational role.
Based in Yakima, WA. DSG Logistics® arranges transportation of goods from anywhere in the US and Canada through many modes of Transportation.

Starting pay: $21-23/hour based off experience
Responsibilities:
- Identify and vet prospective carriers to build a pipeline of service providers
- Book freight service through carriers for clients
- Coordinate the pickup and drop-off of shipments
- Monitor the progress of shipments to ensure that goods arrive promptly and undamaged
- Advise teammates and client(s) on potential supply chain issues
- Prepare all necessary shipping documents for orders, following established SOP’s for transportation compliance
- Communicate and advise across various departments to ensure customer satisfaction
- Assist in scheduling appointments for loading and delivering when necessary
- Update and monitor orders in TMS (Transportation Management System)
- Follow company-wide business development practices to ensure organizational alignment
- Assist in building a culture that is team-oriented and is committed to alignment, creativity and winning.

- Negotiate rates and fees with carriers and clients.
- Understand and handle a wide range of potential issues before, during and after transit.
- Answer phone calls and effectively assess the needs of each caller
- Update all orders in transit in a timely manner through many avenues of communication including websites, emails, phone calls, and more.
Experience:
- Be able to sit for long periods of time
- Must comply with our Integrated Management System (IMS) and be trained on procedures applicable to the requirements of the position, including managing significant quality, environmental, and food safety aspects
- Shipping and/or logistics experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including ability to communicate in a courteous and tactful manner with co-workers and customers
- Strong administrative, typing, computer, and word processing skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Experience with general office equipment and procedures
- Prior success in detail-oriented roles and strong in attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability
- Ability to multitask and to manage several tasks at once.
