Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Duties & Responsibilites:

• Daily support and oversight of Shipping/Receiving operations team while adhering to Mattr HSE policies to achieve IIF status.
• Achieving monthly shipping targets for DSG.
• Receiving goods to ensure timely distribution to accounting department.
• Identify quality related problems and respond right away to prevent or minimize missing performance targets.
• Timely scheduling of carriers to customers, ensures compliance to all policies and procedures for product transit and delivery. Communicate with internal and external customers to ensure compliance with specific customer requests.
• Prepare daily documentation: BOLs, customs and ocean freight, etc.
• Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in work area using the 5S principles.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Knowledge of road and rail transportation rules and regulations to ensure safe, secure, efficient, and clean transportation of products (i.e., weight distribution and height restrictions).
• Strong sense of urgency with good quality track record.
• As required, provide training to new and/or junior employees with a focus on performing work in a safe, efficient, quality minded manner.
  
  

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• At least three (3) years of practical experience in warehouse environment executing on shipping and receiving items in an efficient and safe manner.
• Formal HSE or SMS training will be considered an asset.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office
• Post-secondary education, or those awaiting accreditation, will considered an asset.
