Job description:
Summary: To research, create, develop, manage, and grow a book of business as a Senior Freight Broker using the reputation, likeness, tools, resources, and training provided for you through the DSF Logistics family of companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for building a profitable book of business and achieving sales goals while successfully managing multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Generate leads and contact new and existing prospects through cold calling, emailing, networking, and referrals.
- Research and maintain a keen understanding of the various spot markets and trends to provide competitive quotes to your customers and prospects.
- Building relationships with customers and carriers through high level communication with your customers and prospects and provide efficient solutions to meet their needs.
- Collaborate closely with senior management and operation teams to ensure that customer needs are understood and supported.
- Work diligently with new and existing software and tools
- Process customer information and order entry quickly and diligently to ensure a proper workflow to accounting.
- Utilize McLeod Software in accordance with company policy, expectations, and direction from senior management.
Continue to meet and exceed goals set for you of growth in gross profit $, gross margin %, acquisition of new accounts, new lanes/locations, and load count goals as directed by management.
