We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to lead and manage the full estimating process for large-scale commercial, industrial, and specialty construction projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a proven track record of bidding and winning projects valued at $10 million. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, advanced analytical skills, and a deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the complete estimating process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of detailed estimate packages.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine full scope of work.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for projects of varying size and complexity.
- Review bid documents, identify risks/opportunities, and present insights to senior management.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor bids, providing clear guidance on schedules, means, and methods.
- Participate in RFP responses and support the pursuit of new business opportunities.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and production cost evaluations.
- Solicit, organize, compare, and analyze subcontractor/vendor pricing.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid interviews as needed.
- Review drawings for constructability and monitor actual vs. estimated costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain an updated subcontractor database and prequalification records.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in estimating, preconstruction, or construction operations.
- Proven experience estimating industrial, warehouse, refrigerated buildings, commercial, and retail projects (new construction renovations).
- Strong knowledge of civil/site work, structural systems, interior/exterior finishes, MEP systems, and related cost structures.
- Client-facing experience, including presenting budgets, scopes, and constructability recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and pre-bid meetings (light travel).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Autodesk/ProCore, OST, and ITB software.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, collaborative, and self-motivated.
