Compensation: Competitive base salary ($300,000 $450,000) commensurate with experience, plus performance-based incentives, comprehensive executive benefits, and equity opportunities.

We are conducting a confidential search for an exceptional Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join a mission-driven healthcare organization at the forefront of innovative patient care delivery in New York City s vibrant healthcare ecosystem. This pivotal C-suite role will drive operational excellence, scalability, and strategic growth in one of the nation s most dynamic healthcare markets. The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare executive with a proven track record of transforming operations, optimizing resources, and leading high-performance teams in complex, fast-paced environments like NYC s hospitals, health systems, or payer organizations. If you thrive in high-stakes settings where operational leadership shapes patient outcomes and organizational success, this opportunity offers a platform to redefine healthcare delivery in the heart of New York.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Operations Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to craft and execute a long-term operational strategy, aligning clinical, financial, and regulatory goals to drive growth in NYC s competitive healthcare landscape, including potential expansion into new service lines or boroughs.

Operational Efficiency & Process Optimization: Oversee daily operations across clinical, administrative, and support functions, leveraging lean methodologies, advanced EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), and AI-driven analytics to cut costs by 10 20% while boosting patient throughput and satisfaction metrics in high-volume settings.

Team Building & Talent Management: Lead a diverse team of 200 (including VPs of Operations, Clinical Services, and Supply Chain), recruiting top talent from NYC s deep healthcare pool, fostering professional development, and building a collaborative, inclusive culture that reflects the city s diversity.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and NY state/federal regulations, proactively addressing risks like cybersecurity, supply chain challenges, and quality assurance in a highly scrutinized market.

Financial Oversight & Resource Allocation: Partner with the CFO to manage a $500M operating budget, optimizing capital investments, vendor contracts, and revenue cycle management to ensure profitability while funding innovation in a cost-sensitive urban healthcare environment.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management: Act as a key liaison with board members, physicians, payers, and NYC community stakeholders, leading transformative initiatives like mergers, telehealth expansions, or population health programs with minimal disruption.

Innovation & Performance Metrics: Drive data-informed decisions using KPIs (e.g., readmission rates, operational ROI, employee engagement), harnessing predictive analytics to navigate trends like value-based care in NYC s fast-evolving healthcare sector.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: 10 years in healthcare operations, with 7 10 years in progressive leadership roles (e.g., VP/Director of Operations) within hospitals, health systems, ambulatory networks, or payers, ideally in high-pressure markets like New York City. Proven success managing multi-site or large-scale operations.

Education: Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) from an accredited institution; clinical background (e.g., RN, MD) a plus but not required.

Skills & Competencies:

- Deep expertise in healthcare operations, including revenue cycle, supply chain, and clinical workflow optimization.

- Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility; experience managing budgets and cost-control in complex urban settings.

- Proven change agent with tools like Six Sigma, Lean, or Agile methodologies.

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence diverse stakeholders in NYC s matrixed healthcare environment.

- Proficiency in healthcare IT systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and emerging technologies (telehealth, AI/ML applications).

Personal Attributes: Strategic yet hands-on leader; resilient under pressure; committed to ethical, patient-centered innovation. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and open to 5% travel as needed.

This is a confidential search. All inquiries will be handled with the utmost discretion. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace reflective of New York City s vibrant community.
