Duties
- Prepare detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project plans using tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms to achieve optimal project budgets.
- Develop comprehensive cost proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope, identify potential challenges, and gather accurate data for estimating purposes.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and identify areas for cost control.
- Assist in contract preparation and review to ensure scope clarity and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with project management teams to develop schedules, resource allocations, and procurement strategies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new construction technologies to improve estimating accuracy.
- Support project management teams in planning, scheduling, and overseeing construction site activities as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction site operations and management.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable pricing agreements.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and project management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Construction site experience is highly preferred to provide practical insights into project execution.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
