Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction/Structural Project Engineer to join our growing team. This position will support Project Managers and Superintendents by coordinating engineering, scheduling, subcontractors, quality control, and project documentation throughout the construction process.
The ideal candidate has experience with structural construction, multifamily, student housing, commercial, or industrial projects and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and communication.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing construction projects from preconstruction through project completion.
- Review structural drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals for accuracy.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project schedules and help ensure milestones are achieved.
- Track project budgets, change orders, and cost reports.
- Conduct site visits to monitor quality, safety, and construction progress.
- Support field operations by resolving technical and engineering issues.
- Prepare meeting minutes, progress reports, and project documentation.
- Ensure work complies with contract documents, local building codes, and company quality standards.
- Assist with material procurement and delivery coordination.
- Participate in project planning, forecasting, and closeout activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required.
- 3β5 years of proven experience in commercial, multifamily, student housing, or structural construction.
- Knowledge of structural steel, concrete, metal framing, drywall systems, and building construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, structural drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Procore, Bluebeam, and Autodesk Construction Cloud, is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
