Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Addison, TX for a Quality Control Line Inspector. The Quality Control Line Inspector will be responsible for inspecting products on the production line to ensure they meet quality standards. They will perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests on products, record data, and report any issues or deviations from standards to the Quality Control Manager.


Conduct production and Blending line inspections during the manufacturing of liquid and powder products. Perform initial review of kitting/Blending and production paperwork.

The inspector shall follow Standard Operating Procedures during the performance of duties and complete the required documentation to be reported accurately and within specified time frames. The inspector will complete all assigned tasks per 21 CFR part 110 and 21 CFR part 111 (cGMP requirements) and in compliance with the Quality System. 


 Essential Job Functions

·     Conduct finished good inspections by checking for batch quantity, country, lot number, expiration date, label, SKU, and physical characteristics (seals, dents, and scratches) on packaging.

·     Check the Art Code on the label, product UPC code and compare it to PD brief.

·      Conduct pre-inspection check of equipment (cleanliness, condition, calibration, etc.).

·      Record all pre-inspection check of product and equipment on the QC Line Inspection Form/QC Liquid and powder Line Inspection Form as required by the Standard Operating Procedures.

·     Responsible for immediately notifying line lead or supervisor of any errors during pre-inspection.

·     Complete a NCMR (Non conforming material report) if the pre-production error cannot be fixed immediately.

·     While production is running, for the product on each line, check random weight with production scales, seal integrity, caps on tight.

·     Record weight on the QC Line Inspection Form/QC liquid and powder Lines Inspection Form.

·     Verify production lines are running according to applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Immediately report any errors to line lead or supervisor and or Quality designee.

·     Record all downtime and scale calibration on QC Line Inspection Form/QC liquid and powder Line Inspection Form.

·     Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.

·     Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work.

·     Follow all cGMP requirements.

·     Maintain a clean and orderly workplace. 


·     Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Fill in for the Incoming QC Inspector when needed, fulfilling all duties of that position, as needed and willing to be cross trained in other QC related duties.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be moving about and throughout the facility during the work duty hours. In addition, computer interfacing is required to review and release essential items relevant to company needs. This position will be one involving the review of both records and interfacing with personnel and processes.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

·      Stand/walk for up to 3 hours at a time.

·     Good hand/eye coordination.

·     Visual acuity skills to adequately inspect line operation and equipment.

·     Able to write/record information correctly.

·     Lift up to 30 pounds.

·     Bend, reach forward/overhead, squat, kneel, and twist.

 

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

·     This is a term position

·     Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30pm, 230pm to 11:30pm, weekend shift as well.  40 hours per week but schedule may be adjusted if need be. 

·     Two breaks provided, 15 minutes each to be taken morning and afternoon. Time clock punches are not required for breaks. 

·     Lunch is 30mins. When leaving the building you are required to clock in and out.

No travel is expected for this position.

 

Required Education and Experience

·     Language Ability:

o  Ability to read and comprehend instructions.

o  Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written correspondence.

o  Fluency in English and Spanish would be desirable.

o  Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.

·     Math Ability:

o  Basic ability to add, subtract and use fractions/decimals.

o  Understand and use the metric system.

 

·     Reasoning Ability:

o  Ability to prioritize.

o  Demonstrate good judgment and decision making skills.

o  Basic Computer Skills:

o  Ability to work with MS office

o  Ability to learn and work with ERP software.


·     Certificates and Licenses:

o  None Required.


·     Other Requirements:

o  Must be able to work occasional overtime and weekend hours as needed or required.

o  Pass drug screening.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

·     High School Diploma or Equivalent.

·     1-2 years of work experience in production in a GMP environment preferred.

·     1-2 years work experience with line inspection/GMP audit experience preferred

·     General experience in a FDA regulated industry desired.

·     Experience working with an ERP system.
