Since 1985, Dry Systems Technologies (DST) has designed and built diesel emissions control systems, power packages, and diesel-powered equipment for mining and construction. We have locations in Woodridge and Vienna, Illinois, and Price, Utah.

The Role

The Operations Administrator handles purchasing, MRP management, work orders, and part and pricing data for our Vienna, Illinois facility. The position reports to the Accounting Manager and is on site in Vienna.

On a typical day, you will place and follow up on purchase orders, check open work orders in ABAS MRP, and make sure the parts and materials manufacturing needs are ordered, received or on their way from other company facilities. You will work closely with the Vienna Manufacturing Manager, Production Leads, and our Woodridge procurement, accounting, and engineering teams, especially on new product development projects.

This is a systems and process role, requiring a highly computer and software literate candidate. Accurate purchasing and parts data keeps our builds on schedule and our pricing accurate, so the work you do directly affects what we deliver to customers. As DST expands, you will play an integral role in how purchasing, pricing and ABAS entries are done across locations.

Pay range

$25.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch

What You Will Do

Purchasing and Vendors

• Request quotes, issue purchase orders and follow up with vendors through delivery.
• Track lead times and flag late or at-risk orders early.
• Keep vendor pricing and purchasing records current in ABAS.

MRP, Work Orders and Materials

• Maintain the MRP system and release, review and close work orders.
• Review open work orders each week and follow up on anything late or incomplete.
• Make sure materials are transferred between DST facilities when projects need them.

Parts Data, Costs and Pricing

• Turn miscellaneous items purchased for projects into controlled items with part numbers and add them to bills of materials.
• Maintain costs and sales pricing for items we build in house.

Scheduling and Project Support

• Coordinate shipping dates with the shop and the project manager.
• Support the Vienna project manager with documentation, schedules and status updates.

Process Improvement

• Write and follow standard steps for pricing, purchasing and ABAS entries.
• Reduce duplicate work, such as labor tracking and filing handled at more than one location.

Systems You Will Use

ABAS (ERP and MRP), Excel and DST’s drawing and part number system, Adobe Acrobat. We train you on our part numbering, bill of material entry, and the engines, drivetrain and hydraulic components in our machines.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business administration or equivalent work experience.
• 3 plus years of experience in purchasing, inventory, production planning or operations administration, within a manufacturing facility.
• Experience with an ERP or MRP system. ABAS experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with part numbers, costs and pricing.
• Organized and detail focused, with strong follow-through.
• Strong communicator who works collaboratively in a fast paced environment with manufacturing, engineering, and vendors and operations/office team.
