What are the responsibilities and job description for the AM Jar Line Manager position at Dry Food Production Plant?
SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in Food Processing organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department jar production operations. Ensures that completion dates are met or communicates delays to the Day Shift Supervisor and Production Scheduler.
· Plans production operations with the 1st shift / 2nd shift Production Supervisors, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
· Prepares and executes production schedules in conjunction with the 1st shift / 2nd shift Production Supervisors and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
· Reviews jar line production reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and minimum downtime and delays. Ensures minimal downtime during cleaning and changeovers.
· Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
· Insures changeovers are performed as required to comply allergen and SSOP’s.
· Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with company, safety and quality standards.
· Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Human Resources department further for action.
· Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data and forward to the appropriate departments.
· Ensures that all jar line sanitation schedules are completed and accurate then forwards them to the Quality Control department.
· Insures that operators are trained on procedures and company/OSHA safety policies.
· Reviews pre-op inspections and addresses any deficiencies.
· Report safety issues, near misses, and accidents to HR and Plant Manager.
· Prepares and send end of shift reports.
· Works with Quality Control to insure that production documentation is complete and in compliance with quality standards.
· Verifies along with the Night Shift Supervisor that the jar lines are clean at the end of the shift.
· All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises a total of 25 employees in the Production Area.
· Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
· Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyses information skillfully.
