We are seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our team, based in Chicago, reporting to our Tax Director. This role will provide an opportunity to learn new, substantive tax areas and businesses. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the tax compliance team and supporting the numerical analysis of tax planning.
The ideal candidate should have a strong US tax compliance background, technical and quantitative skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Hands-on tax calculation experience, strong communication, organization, and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team. In the spirit of teaming and hands on learning – the expected in-office commitment is 4 days per week.
How you will make an impact:
Perform periodic tax compliance preparation for multiple domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
Maintain core tax preparation materials for DRW's trading and real estate operations
Provide technical tax support across a global principal trading firm that trades various financial products, physical assets and cryptoassets
Involved in tax compliance for multi-state and multi-national locations and operations
Prepare compliance of global indirect taxes (sales, use, VAT, GST, etc.) and assist in related planning issues
Track, clarify, and resolve income tax notices from the IRS and states in a timely manner.
What you will bring to the team:
2+ years of relevant experience
Experience in public accounting or financial services
Prior involvement in domestic tax compliance process of pass-through entities required
CPA preferred
Bonus Points:
A desire to learn new businesses and new areas of tax
Comfort with complexity of operations and data flow
Prior exposure to taxation of financial products or real estate
Proficient in Alteryx or other similar data and analytics tools.
International or multi-state tax compliance or planning experience
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
