Position Summary
The Market Development Manager is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for driving market growth, securing and maintaining site agreements, supporting the sales team, and assisting leadership with strategic and operational initiatives. This person ensures the company’s local market runs efficiently, opportunities are captured quickly, and revenue is maximized.
This role is critical to expanding the company footprint, protecting assets, and keeping daily operations moving forward.
Responsibilities
Market Growth & Land Management
- Proactively follow up with landowners who are unresponsive to ensure opportunities do not stall
- Respond to inbound inquiries from landowners interested in potential billboard placement and manage those opportunities from initial contact through execution
- Negotiate new leases, renew existing lease agreements, and manage term negotiations to secure favorable terms and long-term control
- Obtain easements and coordinate property rights for new and existing sites
- Conduct local market research to identify potential billboard sites
- Serve as the company’s point of contact for city officials, MoDOT, and other local authorities as needed
Sales Support
- Assist the sales team in coordinating client communications and follow ups
- Help track client leads, follow-ups, and account details to ensure timely execution
- Support account executives in maximizing revenue opportunities from existing inventory
- Help ensure alignment between sales and available or potential inventory
Operations & Leadership Support
- Assist the General Manager with daily operations, project coordination, and strategic initiatives
- Ensure internal systems and programs are being used to their fullest potential
- Track project timelines and ensure progress from concept to completion
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership for market expansion, revenue growth, and operational efficiency
Permitting & Compliance Support
- Coordinate permitting, documentation, and regulatory requirements for new and existing sites
- Ensure all activities comply with local and state regulations
- Assist GM in maintaining organized records of leases, permits, and agreements
Work Environment & Expectations
- Significant time may be spent outside the office meeting with landowners, visiting sites, and engaging with local stakeholders
- Requires strong time management and the ability to work independently while maintaining communication with leadership
Qualifications
- Experience in real estate, sales support, business development, or operations
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage projects independently while escalating as appropriate
- Comfortable interacting with landowners, local officials, and internal teams
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on execution, growth, and revenue generation
