Payroll Specialist and Office Administrator
We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team and help ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for all employees. This role is responsible for maintaining payroll records, processing pay runs, resolving payroll issues, and supporting compliance with applicable wage and tax laws. This position will also include data entry for bookkeeping/tax services.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly, biweekly, or semimonthly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain employee payroll records and update changes such as hires, terminations, benefits, and deductions
- Review timesheets, overtime, PTO, and other payroll data for accuracy
- Reconcile payroll reports and identify/correct discrepancies
- Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues promptly
- Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings and reports as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Coordinate with HR and Finance on payroll, benefits, and accounting matters
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2s and audits
- Data Entry in preparation of tax returns and bookkeeping services.
Qualifications
- 2 years of payroll experience preferred
- Knowledge of payroll systems and payroll laws
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, payroll and tax software
Preferred
- Experience with multi-state payroll
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Sage and Intuit ProSeries
Pay: $2,800.00 - $3,200.00 per month
Work Location: In person
