Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Battery Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the testing and installation of battery systems. This role requires a strong mechanical background and the ability to troubleshoot various battery-related issues efficiently. The technician will also change flat tires and perform lockout service. The Battery Technician will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring that all equipment operates at optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field service visits to install, maintain, and repair battery systems.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Interpret schematics and technical documentation to diagnose issues effectively.
- Execute routine maintenance checks on battery systems and associated hardware.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of service requests.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs, and inventory management.
- Troubleshoot computer hardware related to battery systems and ensure proper functionality.
- Apply knowledge of low voltage systems in the maintenance of battery equipment.
- Utilize an ohmmeter for testing electrical components as part of the diagnostic process.
Skills
- Proven experience in field service roles with a focus on equipment repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts as they relate to battery systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience as a service technician is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of low voltage applications in battery technology is a plus.
