What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telecommunications Manager (Training/Ops) position at Drug Enforcement Administration?
This position(s) primary purpose is to oversee the DEA, Office of Investigative Technology, Telecommunications Training Program.

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled; OR
Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis; OR
Experience: Evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.
Specialized Experience
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent as a GS-13: 1) Developing telecommunications training for an organization and field studies that simulate operational environments; 2) Managing a program to facilitate procurement activities that lead to enhance telecommunications products; 3) Maintaining systems to evaluate and monitor contractual performance.

- Oversees the DEA, Science and Technology, Training Program, which covers the areas of Wireless Interception, Remote Surveillance, and Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
- Provides technical training assistance to DEA field personnel, consultative/planning, advise.
- Evaluates advancements in technology and equipment for adoption/modification of the ST program DEA wide, the design, dismantling, and fabrication of covert and concealed equipment.
- Responsible for the following courses: basic technical skills, basic computer networking skills, collateral technical, surveillance photography, hotel kit, automotive integration, and counter-unmanned aircraft systems (cUAS aka counter drone technologies).
- Consults with DEA stakeholders to understand the requirement, conducts research, recommend solutions, and participate in the development or acquisition of new technologies.
