What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telecommunications Manager (Program Manager) position at Drug Enforcement Administration?
This position(s) primary purpose is to provide domestic and foreign investigative personnel with timely and relevant technological solutions that will enable them to fully exploit an investigation as safely as possible.

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled; OR
Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis; OR
Experience: Evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.
Specialized Experience
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent as a GS-13: 1) Serving as a telecommunications investigator for technologies and equipment such as Small and Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems; 2) Performing maintenance or troubleshooting for video, audio, or radio, digital surveillance or digital intercepts; 3) Designing, dismantling such equipment; installing repairing, conducting training and technical support on the use of the equipment.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. - As a Program Manager you will oversee operations concerning emerging technologies, telecommunications surveillance, intercepts, or sUAS/cUAS equipment and technologies that are used to support investigative operations for the DEA.
- Reviews, develops, and implements policies and guidance to assist Special Agents and other agency designated personnel across the DEA world-wide with investigative operations by integrating the use of electronic technology.
- Serves as a key advisor and expert in the initial phases of project development, which requires conducting feasibility studies to enhance or modify the program DEA-wide; market research to identify the latest trends and advancements in technology.
- Provides on-site assistance, support and training with ST emerging technologies products/programs to users at Domestic and Foreign DEA Offices.
- Develops and maintains systems to evaluate and monitor contractual performance related to such areas as delivery, cost, amount, and additional aspects as it relates to the administration of contracts and the telecommunications programs.
