DRTC promotes a disability-inclusive workforce by connecting people with employment opportunities in the Oklahoma City metro that fit their skills and interests. With offices across the state, DRTC trains or employs approximately 1,000 people with disabilities per year. In addition to community employment opportunities, DRTC operates several programs and divisions, including a Production Center, Employment Services, Federal contracts, and Mobile Workforce. DRTC also offers custom trophy and award crafting services for both wholesale and retail customers.
This is a full-time on-site role for an Employment Consultant located in Norman, OK. The Employment Consultant will be responsible for assisting people with disabilities to obtain and maintain community employment. Daily tasks include working directly with individuals to evaluate their skills and interests, providing job coaching, and matching candidates with suitable job opportunities. Additional responsibilities include conducting on-site job evaluations and coordinating with employers to ensure successful job placements.
- Experience in connecting individuals with employment opportunities
- Ability to evaluate individuals’ skills and interests professionally
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with employers and job candidates
- Previous experience in vocational training or job coaching is beneficial
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with employment services for people with disabilities is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, or related field is preferred
