What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold Setter position at DRS Industrial LLC?
The Mold Setter is responsible for safely and efficiently installing, removing, and setting injection molds while preparing presses for production. This position ensures molds are properly installed, connected, and ready to run according to production schedules while maintaining quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set molds in injection molding presses according to production schedules.
Remove and install molds using proper lifting equipment and safe work practices.
Connect and disconnect water, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical lines.
Verify molds are properly aligned and secured before startup.
Assist with machine startup and communicate any issues to the Process Technician or Production Manager.
Ensure molds, tooling, and equipment are clean and in good working condition.
Prepare presses for production by verifying auxiliary equipment is connected and functioning properly.
Assist with mold preventative maintenance and cleaning as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation of mold changes and production activities.
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
Maintain an organized and clean work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous injection molding or manufacturing experience preferred.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Ability to read setup sheets and work instructions.
Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred or willingness to become certified.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely handle molds and tooling using lifting devices.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing facility with industrial equipment, moving machinery, overhead cranes, forklifts, elevated noise levels, and exposure to heat. Appropriate PPE is required at all times.!
Pay: $20.84 - $25.00 per hour
