Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optician role based in Eugene, OR. The Optician will assist patients with selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyewear, including frames and lenses, to meet their visual needs and aesthetic preferences. Daily responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, advising on lens options and coatings, measuring pupillary distance and fitting parameters, and ensuring proper frame alignment and comfort. The Optician will collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to support clinical recommendations and will educate patients on eyewear care and proper use. Additional duties include maintaining inventory, processing orders and repairs, handling basic insurance or payment questions related to optical products, and contributing to a welcoming, patient-focused office environment.

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of optics and lens materials, including interpreting prescriptions and recommending appropriate lens designs.
- Experience in optometry or ophthalmic settings and familiarity with eye exams and related clinical workflows.
- Proven customer service and customer satisfaction skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with a diverse patient population.
- Attention to detail in measurements, frame adjustments, and quality checks for eyewear accuracy and comfort.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment, managing multiple patients and tasks with professionalism.
- Basic computer skills and comfort with practice management or optical ordering systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; formal opticianry training, certification, or licensure in Oregon preferred.
- Previous experience as an Optician or in an optical shop is strongly preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus.
