We're growing our team in Lafayette and looking for mechanically or electrically inclined individuals who want to build, assemble, and work with cutting-edge drone technology.

Position Overview

DMR Technologies is seeking an Entry-Level Drone Assembly Technician with strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and a desire to develop hands-on technical skills in drone manufacturing.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tools, assembling equipment, troubleshooting mechanical or electrical systems, and learning how things work.

Prior drone experience, hobbyist drone-building experience, or an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is a plus—but not required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Candidates with backgrounds in automotive repair, electrical work, electronics, industrial maintenance, robotics, aviation, or hands-on technical hobbies are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, build, and configure unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drone components.
• Perform mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, and basic electrical connections.
• Install motors, propellers, landing gear, sensors, cameras, batteries, and other drone components.
• Follow assembly instructions, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures.
• Inspect components and completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and workmanship.
• Assist with drone testing, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Identify mechanical or electrical issues and assist with repairs.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.
• Support production, inventory, and other manufacturing activities as needed.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, or basic technical equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and manufacturing processes.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work on-site in Lafayette, Louisiana.
  
  

No college degree or previous professional drone manufacturing experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Previous drone, UAV, or UAS experience.
• Experience building, repairing, or flying drones as a hobby.
• Experience with RC aircraft, robotics, or other electronic systems.
• Mechanical, electrical, automotive, or industrial maintenance experience.
• Soldering, wiring, electronics assembly, or troubleshooting experience.
• Aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing experience.
• Technical school, vocational training, or relevant hands-on coursework.
