Position Title: Outside Plant CAD Drafter

General Summary:

This is a full-time entry level position that will be located in the headquarters office in Bismarck, ND. This position will have successfully completed a college-level course for either AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS Pro. This position has a supportive role collaborating with other team members to produce high-quality drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project team members to complete drafting needs using AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS Pro
• Utilize initial rough designs, preparing working documents through guidance of processes and procedures
• Perform varied data gathering and entry to create, display, maintain, and update databases, coverages, and linkages to various Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases
• Produce data layers or maps, using GIS technology for project related needs
• Have a strong work ethic, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced environment
• Regular, reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance is required
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to fulfill function or as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basic AutoCAD commands, including block editing
• Knowledge of basic ArcGIS Pro Map Layouts and geodatabase function
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, products, and services
• Knowledge of company safety policies and procedures
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate well with a positive & friendly manner both orally and in writing
• Demonstrate the ability accept responsibility for and work under occasional stressful situations with frequent interruptions
• Demonstrate the ability to multi-task
• Demonstrate desire to learn new skills as technologies change
• Perform other duties and responsibilities to fulfill job function or as assigned

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED, GIS Certificate of completion. Entry-level position with no previous experience required.
