Overview
Our small construction team is looking for this important role that will help us improve our process and elevate our services to clients. Looking for interior decorator or interior designer to help with our remodeling projects. The duties include assisting clients with kitchen and bathroom designs, sourcing of materials, visiting showrooms with clients, constant communication with clients on procuring all materials before we we break ground on construction.
Our main business is remodeling projects but with increasing need to build extensions, ADUs and custom homes.
The role will expand to offering interior decorator and interior design services to other contractors and consumers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, needs, and preferences for interior spaces.
- Identity customer preference and design details
- Attend showrooms with clients
- Work with the designers at the kitchen and bath suppliers
- Work with clients on materials checklist and to ensure completion before construction beings
- Use tools to create renderings although most of this work is contracted outside with a 3rd party
- Develop comprehensive design concepts
- Prepare detailed drafting and specifications for interior renovations, remodeling projects, lighting design, and construction processes.
- Select color schemes
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely procurement and installation of design elements.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and contracts efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards throughout the process.
- Assist in sales efforts by presenting design proposals confidently to clients and helping them visualize the final outcome.
- Stay current with industry trends in interior design
Qualifications
- Proven experience in interior decorating or interior design roles
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect
- Solid understanding of drafting techniques, CAD standards, color theory principles, lighting design concepts, and remodeling processes.
- Knowledge of contracts management related to interior projects as well as construction oversight.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, contractors, and team members effectively.
- Experience in budgeting for interior projects including material costs and labor expenses.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
