  • Leadership of the largest projects within the business, including projects with new technical and commercial challenges.
  • Undertake Project Director role on any projects within the business and be accountable to the board for the technical and commercial performance.
  • Actively lead multiple projects, initiatives concurrently managing and influencing others to achieve your vision. Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, stakeholders and contributing to the team ethic at work.
  • Utilizing / overseeing state of the art simulation techniques and design tools to design a variety of different motor topologies for various industries and applications.
  • Generating / approving technical reports and other written project deliverables that effectively convey DSD expertise, professionalism and high quality of work involved in the execution of projects.
  • Generate and implement initiatives that improve cross functional operations and business strategy.
  • Identify and generate new technical capability for the company.
  • An active stake holder in the EP function’s quality system, generating and developing technical and procedural capabilities and ensuring their continuous development.
  • Developing and maintaining strategic relationships on behalf of the function with key account responsibilities to maintain and build revenue streams in your sector.
  • Take ownership of complex program proposals, business development and marketing activities, presenting the company to customers and industry forums.
  • Marketing DSD through technical and commercial forums, conferences and white papers.
  • Continuous personal development, leading the development of others in technical and operational areas that are critical to the company.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, stakeholders and contributing to the team ethic at work.
  • Acting as a role model for DSD’s values and professional standards.

  • Extensive experience in developing different types of motor/generator systems in at least two of the following sectors: automotive, aerospace, off-highway, commercial vehicle, defense, clean energy, marine.
  • High levels of competency in the physics of electromagnetics, structures/strength, heat transfer and the ability to optimize these attributes to meet the needs of a variety of applications.
  • High level of expertise or appreciation in some of the key software packages within motor engineering (MotorCAD, Maxwell, Creo, UGNX, Catia, Matlab/Simulink, Altair and Ansys mechanical/thermal packages).
  • Adept in selecting and applying appropriate manufacturing processes for prototype and production volumes for a wide range of components and materials.
  • The ability to assess supplier capability and hold them accountable to performance expectations.
  • Expertise in the build, verification and validation of motor generator systems and the equipment necessary to enable this.
  • Deep experience applying engineering quality systems, from concept to development, to ensure a high standard of deliverables throughout the project life cycle.
  • Experience identifying and managing subsystem interactions to positive outcomes, working with other subsystem teams in a collaborative manner.
  • Managed large, multi-person and multi-discipline projects through their complete development cycle to both technically and commercially successful outcomes.
  • Ability to create and own compelling system-level value propositions beyond motors/generators e.g, power electronics, transmission systems.
  • An understanding of market trends and challenges, and applications of existing technology within the industry.
  • Generated and managed commercial opportunities to a successful conclusion.
  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
