Responsibilities
- Negotiate freight rates and contracts with carriers to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Manage customer relationships by providing exceptional service and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and manage logistics operations.
- Generate leads through inside sales efforts and develop new business opportunities within the freight brokerage sector.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, communications, and contracts in the customer relationship management system.
- Monitor shipment progress and communicate updates to clients, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
Requirements
- Proven experience in freight brokerage or a related field is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms for both clients and carriers.
- Familiarity with transportation management principles and practices.
- Experience with similar logistics software is a plus.
- Excellent inside sales skills with a focus on lead generation and customer acquisition.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
