What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Foreman / Project Manager position at Drish Construction, Inc.?
We are seeking motivated, hard-working individuals to join our underground utilities team as an On-site Foreman. This is a hands-on, outdoor role offering long-term growth opportunities for individuals with a strong work ethic.
Job Requirements:
Run day-to-day field operations on road construction and underground utility projects — grading, water and sewer main installation, and concrete flat work/structures. You're the person on site who turns plans into finished work: reading drawings, laying out the job, directing the crew, and making the calls that keep production moving without cutting corners on safety or spec.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily crew operations: assign tasks, set pace, keep multiple work fronts (excavation, pipe-laying, concrete) moving together
- Read and work from civil plans, utility drawings, and grade stakes; verify cut/fill and pipe grade/slope before and during install
- Oversee installation of water and sewer mains — trenching, bedding, pipe-laying, tie-ins, backfill and compaction
- Direct concrete work: form work, pours, finishing, and curing for curb, sidewalk, structures, or pavement as scoped
- Run a daily safety briefing (tailgate talk) and enforce trench safety/shoring, traffic control, and PPE compliance on every shift
- Coordinate equipment and material needs with the yard/PM so the crew is never standing around waiting
- Communicate progress, delays, and field changes to the superintendent or PM in real time
- Maintain daily logs: hours, quantities installed, materials used, weather delays, incidents
- Handle utility locates, inspector coordination, and on-site QC checks (compaction tests, grade checks, pipe inspection) before cover-up
What You Bring
- Proven experience running crews on underground utility and/or road construction projects
- Working knowledge of trench safety standards (OSHA 1926 Subpart P) and ability to act as a competent person on site
- Ability to read civil/utility plans and set or verify grade
- Experience with concrete forming, pouring, and finishing
- Strong communication skills — able to direct a crew, talk to inspectors, and report clearly to management
- Valid driver's license; CDL a plus
