TITLE: Operations Manager

DrillChem, a leading provider of drilling fluids, drilling fluid additives, and fluids expertise to the oil and gas industry, seeks an Operations Manager for its Bakken operations. This position is based in Williston, ND. The Operations Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
OVERVIEW
The Operations Manager position is primarily responsible for organizing and managing all inventory of DrillChem’s products, loading and un-loading trucks, packaging/re-packaging products, and all other general operational duties assigned by the Director of Operations. The goal for this position is to get a highly motivated and ambitious candidate who will oversee the overall success of personnel and processes in relation to managing our Williston Basin Warehouse.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Organize, manage, and maintain accurate inventory levels for all DRILLCHEM products.
- Oversee receiving, storage, handling, and dispatch of customer orders in accordance with company standards.
- Coordinate and execute transfers of inventory among DRILLCHEM domestic stock points.
- Ensure proper packaging and re-packaging of products to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor product quality, identify damaged or non-conforming materials, and initiate corrective actions.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure accuracy through cycle counts and periodic audits.
Logistics & Operations
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to support customer delivery schedules and operational needs.
- Support logistics planning to minimize downtime, reduce costs, and improve delivery efficiency.
- Participate in on-call coverage during weeknights and on a rotating weekend schedule to support operational continuity.
Leadership & Personnel Management
- Oversee warehouse personnel, including scheduling, task assignments, and daily work execution.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork within the warehouse.
- Identify training needs and support employee development related to equipment operation, safety, and process efficiency.
- Provide input on performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures and promote a strong safety-first culture.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouse operations, equipment, and work areas.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, implement corrective actions, and support continuous safety improvement.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, warehouse organization improvements, and cost reduction.
- Develop and implement process improvement strategies to enhance productivity and service levels.
- Track key operational metrics and provide regular updates to the Director of Operations.
- Support standardization of warehouse processes and best practices across locations.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Operations, Supply Chain Manager, and Sales Team Lead to align inventory levels, logistics planning, and transportation needs.
- Collaborate with the sales team to improve supply chain responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with forecasting, inventory planning, and demand coordination as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational objectives.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree in logistics, supply chain, operations management, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of logistics or warehouse operations experience; oil and gas or chemical industry experience preferred.
- Prior experience supervising personnel in an operational or warehouse environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with inventory management systems a plus.
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on operational environment and respond to after-hours needs.
