A growing organization is seeking a Head of Product Innovation & Lifecycle Management to lead the development and evolution of high-impact consumer products across a portfolio of brands.
This leader will build and oversee a consumer insight-driven innovation engine responsible for the full lifecycle of each product—from early discovery and concept development through launch, optimization, and retirement.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic product visionary and a disciplined operator who can translate real consumer needs into effective, market-winning products that deliver measurable results.
This role prioritizes long-term customer value over short-term gains. Products must meaningfully improve the customer experience, meet regulatory standards where applicable, and consistently exceed expectations in quality and performance.
This position partners closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, regulatory, marketing, operations, finance, and sales to ensure products succeed in the market and drive strong lifetime value.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Innovation Strategy- Lead innovation strategy across multiple brands or product lines
- Translate consumer insights, research, and market trends into a pipeline of high-impact product opportunities
- Identify emerging opportunities across relevant consumer categories
- Build and maintain a multi-year product roadmap balancing core, growth, and exploratory initiatives
- Foster a customer-first innovation culture
- Lead consumer discovery through research, behavioral insights, and category analysis
- Translate consumer needs into clear product hypotheses and positioning strategies
- Partner with R&D, product development, and regulatory teams to develop effective and compliant products
- Guide key decisions including formulation, format, packaging, claims, and pricing
- Partner with marketing, sales, and operations to ensure successful product launches
- Define target customer, positioning, messaging, channel strategy, and financial goals
- Align product strategy with execution across relevant sales channels
- Own the full lifecycle of the product portfolio
- Monitor performance using key metrics such as sales, margins, customer feedback, and repeat purchase behavior
- Lead product optimization, including improvements to product, packaging, pricing, and margins
- Determine when products should be scaled, repositioned, improved, or retired
- Build and manage a product portfolio that drives strong unit economics and customer lifetime value
- Partner with finance and operations to ensure products meet margin and cost targets
- Lead and mentor product managers and cross-functional teams
- Communicate product strategy and performance to executive leadership
- 10–15 years of experience in product innovation or product management within consumer-facing industries
- Proven track record of launching successful products
- Experience managing the full product lifecycle from concept through optimization
- Strong understanding of regulated or complex product categories (preferred)
- Deep knowledge of consumer behavior, market trends, and brand positioning
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical, marketing, and operational teams
- Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution
