About UsDriftless Landscape LLC is a design/build landscape company seeking a Landscape/Hardscape Foreman to help lead installation projects for the upcoming season.We manage projects from concept through construction and are continuing to grow our internal landscape construction team. Our crews collaborate with skilled trade partners including masons, electricians, plumbers, excavators, and specialty subcontractors to deliver complete outdoor environments.We are an organized, team-oriented company operating newer equipment and focusing on shared project goals, quality craftsmanship, and efficient job sites.Our shop is located in Barneveld, with our design office in downtown Mount Horeb.Learn more about our work at: www.driftlesslandscapedesign.comIf you’re considering a change heading into the new season, we welcome a conversation to see if this position could be a good fit.Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Landscape/Hardscape Foreman to lead daily field operations while working hands-on alongside the crew installing landscapes and hardscapes. The ideal candidate has strong installation skills, leadership ability, and pride in delivering high-quality outdoor spaces.This role combines crew leadership, jobsite organization, and physical construction work.Why Work at Driftless Landscape LLC?Organized, well-planned projectsUnique design/build work — not repetitive production installsWeekly pay and Paid Time OffHealthcare stipend to help cover personal healthcare costsCompany apparel providedTools and equipment suppliedCollaborative team environment working directly with ownership and design staffOpportunities to grow with an expanding landscape company serving the Madison areaKey Responsibilities:Site LeadershipDirect and organize daily crew activities on assigned projectsMaintain jobsite efficiency, quality, and safetyStay aware of project progress and communicate updates or needs to management so scheduling and coordination can be handled by project leadershipInstallation & ConstructionInstall hardscapes including natural stone walls, boulder walls, precast retaining walls, pavers, and landscape lightingPerform planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, and mulch installationRough grading and site preparationLandscape removals and material handlingEquipment & OperationsOperate trucks, skid steers, loaders, excavators, compactors, trenchers, masonry saws, and layout equipmentPrepare trucks and equipment dailyLoad and secure materials safelyCommunication & Problem SolvingIdentify jobsite challenges and communicate solutions with Production Manager and Landscape ArchitectMaintain clear communication with crew and managementWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsWork is performed outdoors in all weather conditions (rain or shine)Regular lifting and handling of materials exceeding 50 lbsModerate noise levels; hearing protection required during equipment operationExposure to soils, fertilizers, and typical landscape materialsSchedule & Employment DetailsTypical schedule: Monday–Friday, 40–50 hours per weekUp to 60 hours during peak workload periodsSome weeks may be lighter due to weather conditionsFull-time seasonal position (approximately spring through fall)Occasional overtime as workload dictatesWe do not perform snow plowing; limited winter hours may be available through land clearing and related projectsQualifications3–5 years landscape or construction experience requiredPrevious foreman or crew leadership experience preferredValid driver’s license required (CDL preferred but not required)Clean driving record for company vehicle useExperience operating equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and excavatorsAbility to read and interpret landscape and hardscape plansPlant knowledge preferredSpanish/English bilingual skills helpful but not requiredJoin our team creating distinctive landscapes and putting craftsmanship first.
