Duties
- Safely operate and navigate six passenger charter vessel, ensuring compliance with all maritime laws and safety regulations
- Safely guide passengers on 3 and 4 hour inshore and nearshore fishing excursions.
- Conduct pre-departure safety checks, including rigging inspections and mechanical assessments
- Oversee onboard safety procedures, emergency protocols to maintain a secure environment
- Provide engaging guidance and commentary to guests about local sights, wildlife, and maritime history
- Maintain vessel cleanliness, proper rigging setup, and routine mechanical maintenance records
- Lead management of onboard equipment, ensuring all gear is functional and properly stored for each trip
- Proven experience as a boat captain or in a similar maritime leadership role; military background is highly desirable
- Valid US Coast Guard captain’s license required
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead crew members effectively
- Mechanical knowledge of marine engines, rigging systems, and vessel maintenance procedures
- Experience with rigging setup and troubleshooting to ensure vessel safety and performance
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with guests and team members
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently in accordance with safety protocols
