Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of roofing crews specializing in sheet metal installation, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to project specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to roofing systems, metal fabrication, and framing details
- Manage material procurement, including estimating quantities of sheet metal, hand tools, power tools, and other construction materials needed for each project phase
- Oversee the proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction machinery on-site
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and building codes by conducting regular site inspections and enforcing safety protocols
- Collaborate with project managers to develop schedules, coordinate subcontractors such as carpenters or masons when necessary, and troubleshoot on-site issues promptly
- Mentor crew members in techniques such as caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, welding, tile laying, framing carpentry, heavy lifting practices, and other related skills
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, roofing installation—specifically sheet metal roofing—and general construction site management
- Strong knowledge of schematics, metal stud framing, plumbing integration with roofing systems, masonry work, restoration techniques, and remodeling processes
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., hammers, chisels), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), welding equipment and fabrication tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during complex tasks such as concrete forming or tile laying
- Prior experience supervising construction crews in roofing or related trades with excellent leadership skills
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to roofing projects and construction sites; OSHA certification preferred
- Exceptional communication skills for reading blueprints/schematics accurately and coordinating with team members effectively
Required Skills
- 5 years of commercial roofing experience in various systems
- Ability to read documents such as specs and blueprints.
- Ability to supervise and motivate crew
- Possess a valid driver’s license
