Business Intelligence Analyst

DRH Health Information Technology supports clinical and financial systems and the technical architecture of DRH Health. The Business Intelligence Analyst will provide business intelligence support to the financial and clinical operations of the organization and is responsible for collecting, scrubbing, and extracting various sources to generate reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions. This position will routinely perform and manage standard and advanced reporting/analytics and derive insights to drive business decisions and operations. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate, complete, and timely standard/ad-hoc reporting.

Responsibilities (essential Functions)

• Creates clear and concise reporting on requested business metrics using Meditech Report Designer, Meditech Business and Clinical Analytics (BCA), Boston Workstations, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Structure Query Language (SQL) and other reporting tools.
• Extracts, analyzes, and interprets healthcare and/or financial data to address organizational needs.
• Supports management with analytics and reporting for strategic initiatives.
• Designs, builds, tests, documents, and ensures reports are implemented, maintained, and updated based on established business requirements.
• Collaborates with leadership team and other organization process owners to gather report requirements and specifications for the design and delivery of reporting solutions and to provide meaningful and credible feedback on reporting capabilities and needs.
• Assists with completion of special projects as requested by various internal departments or from regulatory, contracted, or other external agencies.
• Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Research and evaluate new and updated products, features, and capabilities in information gathering tools to ensure continual service improvement. Assist with new system selection, implementation, testing, and training.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the healthcare business process and related technology including a basic understanding of clinical workflows and terminology.
• Thorough needs assessment in order to correctly address needs and identify appropriate solutions.
• Participates in the IT on call rotation, and is also willing to answer questions when not on call.
• Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings.
• Utilization of assistive devices for lifting is mandatory.
• Must adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Skill in analyzing and problem solving. Skill in performing research and development, technical analysis, prototyping, and design. Ability to implement, evaluate, and modify systems and support team members in executing, testing, and rolling-out solutions. Ability to become a technical subject matter expert in assigned functional area(s).Advanced computer skills with information technology associated with the position. Ability to use analysis and critical thinking in order to assess processes and recommend effective solutions. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills including report writing. Experience working well independently and in a team setting. Excellent problem solving and relationship building.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a field related to computer or information science. Three (3) years of recent report writing and data analysis experience preferred. Healthcare information systems and electronic health record experience preferred. Experience supporting specialty areas preferred. Technical implementation/project management training or experience preferred. Significant years of related work experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: A current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
