Main Purpose of Job:
Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream is looking for a dedicated and results-driven individual to join our team in the role of Assistant Controller. In this position, you will play a crucial role in partnering with the Financial Controller and leading a team of four to ensure accurate and timely financial accounting, reporting, and period end close, balance sheet budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation, and internal and external audit management. You will also serve as local treasury, supporting the Financial Controller in cash flow forecasting and management. Responsibilities: Lead, develop and retain team of four (two senior accounting analysts, two accounting analysts) across the following areas of responsibility:
Financial Accounting and Period End close
- Responsible for full accounting cycle, including period end close for the following areas: IFRS 16 leases (including qualifying new leases), Fixed Assets, Corporate prepaids and accruals (Insurance, services, litigation and other), Debt, and other balance sheet line items, Payroll, interest and other P&L items below EBITDA, Receivables Financing, Intercompany, Treasury, Haagen Dazs Shoppe Company
- Perform all balance sheet reconciliations
Internal and External Audit:
- Deliver PBCs for External US consolidated audit (IFRS based) and lead related discussions; prepare US GAAP based Haagen Dazs Shoppe Company standalone financials and manage related external audit
- Ensure performance of internal controls over areas of responsibility and deliver related internal audit requests
- Manage annual external audit of Receivables Financing program
Financial Reporting, Forecasting and Budgeting:
- Monthly external reporting for Receivables Financing
- Quarterly provision reporting
- Support Preparation of Consolidated Year End IFRS based financial reporting
- Forecasting and budgeting for multiple balance sheet accounts and depreciation, amortization, and intercompany P&L line items
- Support Financial Controller in delivering monthly cash flow forecast
Treasury:
- Liaison with Citibank, HSBC and HQ Treasury team across ten bank accounts
- Payment run and AR direct debit validations and authorizations in Kyriba (Treasury Management System) and Citibank
- Manual payroll check issuance in Citibank
- Manual payment creations in Kyriba
- Manage payments, invoice submissions and reconciliations related to Receivables Financing program
Various other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 10 years public accounting / industry experience in positions of progressively increasing responsibility, including leading teams
- Experience managing external audit process
- Experience working in a multi-business unit / international environment preferred
- Public company accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between $160,000 and $185,000 per year.
