Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics is looking to a fill the role of Program Assistant (PA) for the Math Resource Center (MRC). The MRC is a tutoring center that provides in person help for any undergraduate mathematics course at Drexel. The PA will work with the MRC Manager and Mathematics Department Head to operate the day-to-day functions of the MRC and, more generally, work with faculty and other department members to facilitate and enhance student success in mathematics courses.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the in-person drop-in tutoring center during hours of operation
- Open and close the in-person MRC
- Assist MRC manager in scheduling tutors
- Collect data on student use of MRC and other measures of student success and report on the same
- Oversee online tutoring center
- Work with facilities on tutoring center maintenance
- Maintain textbook collection
- Facilitate proctoring for exams and other assessments
- Assist faculty in preparation of course materials
- Assist MRC manager and Math Department Head in tutoring events
- Maintain pleasant and professional atmosphere in the MRC
- Maintain MRC website
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- 1 year of experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrated ability to maintain an organized and professional workspace
- Familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing
Physical Demands
- Typically sitting at a desk/table
- Typically standing, walking
