Assistant Program Director

Drexel Kids Child Development Center offers full-time and part-time childcare Monday through Friday each week, from 6:30 AM-5:30 PM. We are currently seeking an assistant director to assist with the daily management of the center. The associate director will work closely with an appointed leadership to help execute the vision of the center.

The assistant director will support the center through staff and classroom support, as well as assisting with administrative responsibilities. This individual will be trained to serve as the acting director in the absence of a director. Drexel Kids staff will ensure a safe and educational environment. The person chosen for this position will work with the Director to develop curriculum, communicate with parents, and uphold the center and church’s reputation. Drexel Kids is a ministry of First Church of God of Drexel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support teachers as they plan and execute developmentally appropriate educational activities for children in the assigned classroom
• Maintain compliance with NC Childcare laws and regulations
• Stay updated with latest STARS requirements and CACFP requirements
• Direct classroom staff/assistants in the room in planning and executing daily activities
• May temporarily work in the classroom as a lead teacher as part of their orientation to understand daily lesson planning and curriculum execution
• May temporarily serve in the kitchen to execute and understand food regulations
• Communicate effectively and professionally with children, parents, and staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
• North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials (NCECC)
• Two years of full-time experience in licensed childcare facility
• CPR, First Aid, DCDEE criminal background check qualifying letter

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
