Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance and Custodial Technician to ensure our facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. This energetic role involves performing a variety of cleaning, custodial, and maintenance tasks across our commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. You will play a vital part in maintaining the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of our facilities.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, polishing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning to preserve flooring integrity and appearance.
- Execute custodial tasks in both commercial and residential settings with precision and efficiency.
- Carry out general facilities maintenance including minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), light plumbing or electrical work as needed.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and industrial cleaning tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain janitorial supplies inventory and ensure proper storage and disposal of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Support porter responsibilities by assisting with moving furniture or equipment, setting up for events, or other related tasks to keep the facility organized.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential environments is highly preferred.
- Proven skills in cleaning techniques including floor care (buffing, stripping, waxing) and industrial cleaning methods.
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies management.
- Ability to follow safety procedures related to chemical handling and equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Previous porter or building maintenance experience will be considered an asset.
