Overview
We are a growing bookkeeping firm seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients across various industries. This role requires accuracy, strong time management skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping for multiple client accounts
- Record and categorize daily financial transactions (sales, expenses, payroll, etc.)
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain general ledgers and ensure all entries are accurate
- Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Support monthly and year-end closing processes
- Assist clients with bookkeeping questions and provide ongoing support
- Collaborate with accountants and tax preparers for reporting and filings
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial data
- Use accounting software such as QuickBooks Online (and others as applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Xero
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger functions
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Nice to Have
- Experience with payroll processing and sales tax filings
- Familiarity with additional platforms (Xero, Dext, Gusto, etc.)
- Prior experience in a bookkeeping or accounting firm
