Participant/Deviser: 'Once More, With Feeling'

Help to develop/being a participant in the development of a new intergenerational, theatrical happening/experience called 'Once More, With Feeling.' The experience looks to use the framework of an orchestra/orchestral score as a kind of metaphor for American democracy. The project also is experimenting with subverting traditional rehearsal tropes by using a significantly small rehearsal time frame and inviting pedestrians/non-performers local to the community as performers.

We are looking to do two evenings of experimentation in downtown New York City at the Gymnasium at University Settlement in the Lower East Side. Namely, Friday, June 26th, 2026 from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday, June 27th, 2026 from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. *You do not have to be available for both dates and will likely only be called in for one session but please be available for the full duration of the session.

We are also looking for all kinds of people with any amount of experience whatsoever. So if you and your child(ren), mom, dad, cousin, student(s), uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, grandma, grandpa, friend, significant other, whole family, students, want to participate, feel free to fill out the form on their behalf. Even if they have never been in a devising room before, that's totally great and wildy fascinating. Our only request would be to invite people that you think would be game for some theatrical devising which goes without saying but still feels like it needs to be said.
