Drew Executive Search is excited to partner with a locally-owned firm that has been in business for 60 years and is looking to add a Access Control / CCTV technician to join their team to assist with increased work load in the Jackson, MS area. My client is well established in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana and is expanding their reach into Mississippi. During this time, my client has grown to become a single point of contact for physical security and financial equipment. From access control, CCTVs, and alarms, to traditional locksmith service. The Access Control / CCTV Technician is a professional position that installs, modifies, repairs, and maintains: access control systems, commercial CCTV systems, burglar alarms, business automation, and intercom systems.
- Installs and configures intrusion, CCTV, and access control security systems.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, which can include drilling, trenching or aerial runs.
- Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that security systems are complete and satisfy customer and contractual requirements.
- Assists and interfaces with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager regarding on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of equipment.
- Conducts tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational.
- Troubleshoots new system installations to ensure proper functioning and to ensure system meets local, county, state or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
- Presents a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance.
- Performs work assignments in a safe manner and within specified time limits.
- Promotes, builds, and maintains good customer relations and assists with contract retention.
- Maintains company property and documentation in accordance with established policies; handles proprietary information in the prescribed manner;
- Keeps abreast of changes and new developments in products and technology.
- Attends and completes training programs as requested.
Education/Experience:
- 2 or more years experience installing and/or servicing intrusion, access control, and CCTV security systems and 1 year as a Security Technician programming and troubleshooting these systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational/Technical Degree in electrical, security, or computer systems preferred but not required.
- DMP experience is a plus
- IP Video and IT experience preferred
- Climb ladders that extend up to 24 ft. in height
- Carry items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work on-call on a rotational basis covering after hours & weekend emergency calls.
- A valid state driver’s license, without restrictions, is required.
My client offers an hourly pay rate in the $22-$30/hr range plus a company vehicle, comprehensive benefits and training plus additional perks. All prospective candidates will be required to be licensed and bonded and will need to pass a criminal background and driving record check.
