Job Summary:
The Head Football Coach will organize, coordinate, and promote a comprehensive football program designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community. Additionally, the Head Football Coach will coordinate athletic programs in specified sports.
In the role of Alternative Learning Environment (ALE) Director, in conjunction with the administration, will oversee the daily operations, staff, and compliance of the district’s ALE program. This includes directing student referrals and placements, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations, maintaining accurate documentation of student services, developing and monitoring personalized learning plans, and supporting staff through ongoing professional development to effectively serve students in a non-traditional academic setting.
Essential Duties:
- Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning of the game.
- Ensure the safety of participants by inspecting facilities and equipment and being aware of environmental conditions.
- Develop a public relations program to keep the public informed of the accomplishments and endeavors of the football program.
- Ensure compliance with all Arkansas Athletics Association (AAA) rules and regulations.
- Assist the Athletic Director in making football and other sports schedules and in preparing weekly game reports.
- Make regular grade checks on all football players.
- Plan and coordinate athletic awards banquets.
- Assume responsibility for the behavior of football players while involved in the football program.
- Secure game officials for varsity home games
- Communicate with students, staff, faculty, parents, and the public, sharing information about the football program and encouraging student participation in various campus activities.
- Utilize and maintain football equipment.
- Communicate with campus administration and Athletic Department on hiring of all assistant coaches.
- Assign, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the work of assistant football coaches.
- All responsibilities are in addition to their regular duties as a classroom teacher.
- Oversee and manage the Alternative Learning Environment (ALE) program.
- Ensure compliance with state and district ALE guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized academic and behavioral plans for ALE students.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administration to support student success.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and required reporting for ALE services.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid Arkansas teaching license or ability to obtain one preferred.
- Coaching experience in football at the high school level or above.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
