What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traffic Engineer position at Dresdner Robin?
Dresdner Robin is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting traffic analyses and data gathering, reports, and design for land development and infrastructure projects throughout New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia.
5-10 years of prior experience as a Project Engineer/Manager on transportation projects and executing work in an efficient and skilled manner is required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare traffic engineering/impact analysis
- Prepare client proposals
- Highway design/geometric roadway design
- DOT access permitting
- Signage and striping plans
- Parking demand/ feasibility studies
- Corridor studies
- Traffic signal design and construction inspection
- Expert testimony at municipal board hearings
- Develop, maintain, and execute project objectives, timelines, goals, and budgets.
- Communicate with clients and jurisdictions in a professional and timely manner.
- Attend and participate in project and construction meetings.
- Assist with project pursuits, new business development, and developing client relationships.
- Identify potential projects and develop strategies grow the practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 5-10 years of experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) preferred.
- Proven experience in client management.
- Proven experience with NJDOT and county permitting requirements and standards
- Familiarity of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and practical experience with applicable standards including HCS, AASHTO, MUTCD, ADA/PROWAG, NJDOT, NJTA, etc.
- Knowledge and practical experience of drainage and stormwater management design
- Familiarly with permitting requirements as they relate to transportation projects and ability to coordinate with other disciplines, as necessary.
- Experience preparing Traffic Impact Studies is required; Traffic Signal Plans and Electrical Plans is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Collaborative and team-oriented demeanor.
