Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar models.
- Conduct maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Troubleshoot issues related to transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC.
- Execute vehicle maintenance tasks including brake repair, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment.
- Read and interpret schematics to assist in the repair process.
- Operate heavy machinery as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role with a focus on automotive repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and electrical systems is essential.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with mechanic work.
- Experience with assembly, equipment repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of safety protocols while working with heavy machinery is required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary for success in this position.
