Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mortgage Processor to join our growing team. The Mortgage Processor will play a crucial role in facilitating the mortgage application process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. While experience as a processor is a plus, we are also open to training the right candidate.
As we are a local mortgage brokerage, you will be working directly with the founders on a daily basis helping us grow the company by implementing processes and procedures. As we grow, there will be opportunities for advancement within the processing department, and also within other departments. We are firm believers in promoting from within, and are looking for someone with a desire to grow with the company. As we recruit and develop additional loan officers, you'll be working side by side with them in the system we have built to create an efficient client experience.
Responsibilities:
- Review mortgage applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, and clients to gather any additional information or documents needed.
- Verify applicant information and financial documents, such as credit reports, income verification, and asset statements.
- Prepare and submit mortgage loan files to underwriting for approval.
- Communicate with clients to provide updates on the status of their applications and address any questions or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations governing mortgage lending.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all mortgage transactions.
- Organization of your loan pipeline, including making sure all systems are updated and all milestones are accurate
Ideal Attributes:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience as a mortgage processor or similar role preferred, but not required
- Experience working with a broker shop preferred, especially if you are used to working in multiple lender portals
- Strong understanding of mortgage lending underwriting guidelines, regulations and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Arive preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual(Spanish) is highly preferred
