Position Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Common Grounds, a safe, fun place to hang out for teens. Evenings and weekends work required. Thursday through Saturday, afternoons and evenings; additional day to be mutually determined.
Program Manager:
- Provides service with integrity, respect, empathy, and confidentiality to youth and their families;
- Creates a safe and structured environment to provide service that is trauma informed and is consistent with the principles of positive youth development.
Program Manager Core ResponsibilitiesYouth Environment & Culture
- Model compassion, accountability, and professionalism when engaging youth.
- Meet youth “where they are” while maintaining clear behavioral expectations.
- Maintain a physically and psychologically safe environment at all times.
- Uphold ethical standards, inclusive practices, and confidentiality.
Staff & Volunteer Supervision
- Ensure all staff complete required trainings as needed
- Recruit, coordinate, and supervise adult volunteers.
- Support onboarding and training, especially safety protocols and youth supervision expectations.
- Ensure minimum coverage of two adults on site during all open hours.
Programming & Youth Leadership
- Work closely with the Youth Council to implement youth-guided activities and events.
- Develop programming and activities aligned with CG’s mission.
Operations & Facility Management
- Oversee daily operations of the drop-in center.
- Track supplies and inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness and shared accountability of the space.
- Report facility needs promptly.
Reporting & Planning
- Produce monthly reports including participation numbers, demographics, programming summaries, and facility usage.
- Provide input to the Board of Allies for annual planning.
Compliance
- Complete all required trainings.
- Attend regular staff meetings, including supervision and reflective supervision.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- At least 3 years of direct service experience in human services or related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Maintain a clean driving record based on DreamTree Project insurance requirements.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience working directly with youth.
- Experience in trauma-informed care.
- Demonstrated understanding of challenges facing youth and young adults.
- Supervisory experience.
- Bilingual (in Spanish or Tiwa).
Reporting Structure & Governance
- Reports to the Common Grounds Board of Allies for program implementation & policies, and overall direction.
- Reports to the DreamTree Director of Youth Services for employment and compliance matters including timesheets, payroll, leave requests, HR, and agency policies.
- The Manager does not have sole hiring or firing authority.
Employment Structure
- Hourly position
- 24-36 hours per week
- Evening and weekend work required: Thursday through Saturday, afternoons and evenings; additional day to be mutually determined.
Additional Compensation
- $100 = 30 Days after start date
- $100 = 60 Days after start date
Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
