We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs in a variety of settings, including assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Duties
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor patients' health and well-being through regular observation, reporting any changes or concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Help clients engage in social activities, fostering community involvement and personal growth.
- Lift and transfer individuals safely as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and privacy.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records of patient observations and interactions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in direct support roles, such as working in assisted living or nursing home environments, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of patient monitoring techniques and the ability to observe changes in behavior or health status.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A caring attitude with a passion for helping others achieve their personal goals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be able to lift individuals safely and assist them with mobility as required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is a plus.
