What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Technician (ABA Therapy) position at DreamShip Center, Inc.?
As a Behavior Technician, you’ll work directly with children ages 2–18, providing one-on-one therapy sessions designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Sessions are typically 2–3 hours long, scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and take place in our center. You may support 2–5 clients depending on scheduling and client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with children to develop skills in communication, fine/gross motor, self-help, and pre-academic areas
- Implement therapy programs designed by a BCBA
- Collect data throughout each session to track progress
- Support clients exhibiting a wide range of behaviors, including challenging behaviors
- Collaborate with therapists, caregivers, and team members to ensure consistent client progress
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young adults (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Strong communication, patience, and empathy
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Availability for at least 3–4 weekday sessions per week
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, stand, walk, or run during sessions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
