Lead Carpenter - Residential Remodeling

Location: Washington, DC (projects across DC, MD, and Northern VA)

About The Role

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Northwest DC is hiring a Lead Carpenter to oversee residential remodeling projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for both hands-on construction work and coordinating day-to-day activity on-site.

Projects include kitchen, bathroom, and whole-home renovations in occupied residences throughout the DC metro area.

What You'll Do

• Manage daily job site operations and ensure work progresses according to schedule and scope
• Serve as the on-site liaison between homeowners, subcontractors, and internal leadership
• Execute skilled carpentry and remodeling work, including framing, trim, cabinetry, drywall, tile, flooring, and fixture installation
• Coordinate subcontractors and verify work quality and sequencing
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, especially in occupied homes
• Review plans and specifications to ensure accurate execution
• Track project updates, photos, and notes using JobTread or similar tools
• Identify issues early and communicate solutions to management
• Support and guide less experienced team members
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Strong background in residential remodeling and carpentry
• Experience leading projects or crews on-site
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
• Comfortable working in occupied homes; historic renovation experience is a plus
• Ability to read and follow construction plans
• Solid communication skills with clients and team members
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Physically able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required
