Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network is a non-profit agency seeking a Full Time EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST to work with individuals with disabilities to find community employment within Contra Costa County. Our agency provides assessments, job preparation, job placement and coaching to youth and adults with limitations and disabilities throughout California. Clients served will have various disabilities including mental health, learning/developmental, physical, visual impairments and those who are deaf/hard of hearing.
Clients are referred from Department of Rehabilitation and are seeking employment placement assistance.
- The position requires experience working with individuals with disabilities including mental health.
- Providing employment assistance to others is required; sales experience is helpful.
- Workforce or Community development experience is helpful.
- A minimum of an AA degree is required.
- Experience with Case Management and heavy documentation is required.
We are looking for someone who is highly organized and detail orientated, able to work independently as well as with a team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, reliable, good communicator, a self-starter and passionate about giving back to the community. Flexibility is critical in providing services to our clients but also to meet the demands of the position. Candidates must be able to manage a case load of approximately 25 individuals who are in a variety of different services each with varying documentation requirements.
Candidates must be PC computer-literate (typing and utilizing software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) and be able to effectively communicate information in both oral and written forms. Applicants must be able to present and exchange information internally across teams and co-workers, and externally with clients and the public.
This position will interface and act as a liaison to persons serviced, the business community and state/county agencies. Candidates must be able to travel and maneuver within the community to meet clients and employers at various locations on a daily basis. Services are based out of Central and East Contra Costa County however travel to other counties is occasionally required for meetings and events.
This is a Non-Exempt (hourly) position with company benefits such as: accrual of vacation & sick time, holiday pay, medical, dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, 401K, mileage reimbursement, professional development and training opportunities, annual staff retreat, and holiday party. Must have valid Drivers License, clean DMV, and pass fingerprint background check.
