Airbnb Cleaner / Property Caretaker (Variable Pace, Growth Opportunity)

We run a growing, boutique short-term rental operation in the Gunks.

We are looking for someone who can do more than just cleaning — someone who can take care of a wide spectrum of things for a residential property. It could be : fix small things, gardening, landscaping, help us to keep supplies organized, notice and solve smaller problems, and help us to keep homes under our management in excellent condition over time.

This role includes:

• turnover cleaning and staging homes for guests as a start
• basic property upkeep, maintenance and problem-solving

Some days are calm. Some days we move fast.
Being able to adjust your pace and stay productive is a core part of the job.

Location Requirement is Non-Negotiable: You must live within 10 miles of Kerhonkson, NY.

This job involves time-sensitive turnovers and occasional short-notice needs.
We are not able to consider candidates who live farther away.

Our busiest days are:
Friday, Sunday, and Monday (required availability)

On busy days:

• work must be finished on time
• pace is faster
• you need to stay focused and keep moving

On slower days:

• we work on improvements, organization, and property care
• we do not stretch tasks or “milk hours”

This role is best for someone who can handle both types of days well.

What We Expect From You

This is not just a cleaning role — it’s a caretaking role.

You should be able to:

• Clean efficiently and improve speed over time
• Set up homes so they feel clean, organized, and guest-ready
• Notice issues (damage, missing items, wear and tear)
• Communicate clearly with the team (text updates)
• Follow checklists and written instructions
• Use basic systems (phone, messaging, shared docs/spreadsheets)
• Handle small problems or fixes when appropriate
• Work independently without being watched
• Any property maintenance skill is a plus!

Required Experience

Must have:

• Basic property caretaking or maintenance ability
• Comfort working under time constraints

Work Style Expectations

• Work must be honest, focused, and efficient
• We do not drag tasks out or stretch time
• You are expected to take responsibility for the whole property, not just your task list
• The team shares the workload — no one carries everything alone

Schedule & Availability

• Work is based on reservation schedule
• Friday, Sunday, and Monday availability is required
• Holiday availability is important

If you are not available on these days, this role will not be a fit.

Pay & Growth

Training pay is $20.
