Duties
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budgets for residential interior design projects.
- Develop comprehensive design concepts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Rhino 3D.
- Create detailed construction documentation including drawings, specifications, and construction details to guide project implementation.
- Produce realistic renderings and visual presentations using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, and other graphic design tools to communicate ideas effectively.
- Conduct building code analysis to ensure all designs meet local regulations and safety standards.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously by coordinating schedules, budgets, and resources efficiently.
- Oversee the remodeling process from initial concept through construction completion while maintaining clear client communication.
- Prepare 3D models for architectural visualization and interior space planning using advanced 3D modeling software.
- Collaborate with lighting specialists on lighting design and sales to enhance ambiance and functionality within spaces.
- Ensure building information modeling (BIM) tools are utilized effectively for accurate project coordination.
- Assist in selecting color schemes, materials, furnishings, and finishes that align with the overall design vision.
- Review construction details for accuracy and completeness while ensuring building code compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience
- Proven experience in interior design with a strong portfolio showcasing residential interior projects, remodeling, or renovation work.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D (3ds
), Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite. - Strong understanding of drafting techniques, construction detail documentation, and building code analysis.
- Experience managing multiple projects from concept through completion while adhering to budgets and deadlines.
- Knowledge of lighting sales, lighting design principles, and renovation processes is highly desirable.
- Background in construction or remodeling projects with hands-on experience ensuring building code compliance and safety standards.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to translate ideas into compelling visual presentations.
- Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) tools for efficient project coordination is preferred.
